On The Road...No Problem!!!

The Rangers traveled for Bayfield for their first road game of the season on Wednesday evening. The Rangers were coming off a big win over the Durango Dodgers but were facing an unknown Bayfield Black team.
Dixon Shropshire led off the action with a fly ball to centerfield that resulted in a home run! Derek Carman followed with a single and advanced around the bases on wild pitches and stolen bases to score. Thomas Barnes and Noah Pritchard both walked and later scored. Cole House hit a single and later scored when Land Lambert hit a single for the RBI. Sophia Holt, Niko Martinez, and Lukas Minerich all walked and later scored. Dixon returned to hit again in the first inning, getting himself a single. Derek repeated with a hit but this time a double and an RBI. Thomas walked again. Noah hit a fly ball to right field and legged it out for a homerun collecting two RBIs. Cole hit a triple. Sophia then hit a double and got an RBI. Niko followed with a single and an RBI. Tyler Woodworth put the ball in play but the side ended as the first baseman beat him to the bag. At the end of the top of the 1st after 10 hits, 6 walks, and 2 strikeouts the Rangers had 15 runs!
In the top of the 2nd inning the Rangers added more. Lukas led off with a single and was driven in when Dixon hit a double. Derek flew out to the shortstop. Thomas hit a single and drove in Dixon. Noah followed with a double after Thomas had scored on a passed ball. Cole hit another triple and recorded an RBI. Land walked and later scored when Niko hit a single to also drive in Cole. The inning ended with 6 runs on 6 hits, 2 strikeouts, and a walk. The Rangers tally was 21!
Lukas again led off the third but reached on a walk. Dixon also walked. Derek hit another double and collected two more RBIs. Thomas and Noah both walked and later scored. Cole hit a single and later scored. Land grounded out to the shortstop but added another RBI. After three innings with the bats, the Rangers had racked up 27 runs!
On the hill for the Rangers Thomas threw two innings. He allowed 2 hits and 2 walks. Two runs crossed on his watch, both earned. Thomas recorded 6 K’s. Niko closed the game in the third inning giving up 2 hits and 1 walk. Niko allowed 1 earned run and had 2 K’s.
The final was 27-3. The Rangers look to continue their big winning style against the Bayfield Purple team on Saturday at ALP Field at noon.
